South Notts Local Group

South Notts Local Group (SNG) is Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s members’ group in Rushcliffe, working to promote nature conservation locally and in the words of BBC Spring/Autumn Watch you will “get involved with nature”.

This site has been designed to act as a source of information on a wide variety of wildlife activities in the area, with details of all the local nature reserves (Trust and others) and any local reserve work parties looking for help in conservation work such as Bunny Wood, Wilwell, Wilford Claypit and Bingham Linear Park. There is also information about some local projects such as the Rushcliffe Barn Owl Project.

In addition we run a programme of walks, talks, site visits and reserve open days over the year, these are open to everybody and although we charge for talks, walks are free. In addition we have included links to our recent local group newsletters and to a variety of local and national wildlife web sites.

South Notts Local Group also promotes wildlife and nature conservation by taking a display and nature table to various local spring fairs, fund raising through the Ruddington Spring Fair, monitoring local planning applications and getting involved with various local wildlife initiatives such as supporting the Rushcliffe Nature Conservation Strategy Implementation Group and the Bingham to Melton Wildlife Corridor Project.
