Wilford Claypits

Wilford Claypits is a small SSSI on the edge of Compton Acres sited below the Apple Tree Pub. It is a mixture of pond & marsh habitat + grassland and scrub woodland.

Noted for it`s range of aquatic species including dragonflies, frogs and newts etc it also has a a diverse range of wildflowers including populations of orchids – Common Spotted, Southern Marsh (+hybrids) Bee and Fragrant.
