Wildlife Reserve Work Parties in South Nottinghamshire
Contact and other information for Spring 2014
The following reserves all run volunteer Work Parties. These are a great way to do something practical for nature conservation, get out in the fresh area and meet other people.
Wet and windy weather over the winter means there is still plenty to do on our reserves this spring. All work parties welcome new members! Training and equipment will be provided, but please bring your own protective clothing, gloves and boots. It is also a wise precaution for anybody doing this sort of work regularly to ensure their Tetanus jab is up to date.
Reserve work parties are being held on a regular basis by the friends group at Gotham Nature Reserve, who have set themselves an ambitious work schedule to restore the site over the next couple of years. If you live in or around Gotham village then please try and help out at your local reserve!
A regular reserve work party has been reinstated at Skylarks as part of the on-going major project to incorporate additional land adjacent to the original site. A wide range of tasks, including habitat/woodland management and path maintenance are planned, and volunteers are needed to get work started.
If you are interested please get in touch with the respective Contact (who is also a volunteer) for full details.
