Vale of Belvior Barn Owl Conservation Group

 

The Vale of Belvoir Barn Owl Conservation Group are presenting a conservation evening on Friday 12th December 2014 at Waltham on the Wolds Village Hall near Melton Mowbray. Professor Ian Newton, OBE, FRS, Vice President of the RSPB and recent past Chairman of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) will be giving an illustrated talk on the Sparrowhawk. Also, three other expert speakers with illustrated talks on bat detectors, Lincolnshire and Vale of Belvoir peregrines and the ecological benefits of maintaining the Grantham Canal. There will also be a number of conservation related information stands: East Midlands Butterfly Conservation, Grantham Canal Society, Leicestershire and Rutland Bat Group, Vale of Belvoir Barn Owl Conservation Group, Bumblebee conservation and the best garden plants for bees, supplementary winter farmland bird feeding and Muston Meadows National Nature Reserve.
